Support Ernie's Loved Ones in Their Time of Need

Ernest "Ernie" Rhodes, 52, passed away Friday, March 14, 2025 in Terra Houte, Indiana from a widow maker heart attack, in his semi a long way from home. Ernie was an over the road professional truck driver that drove for Liberty Transportation. He was known to originally haul flat bed, later switching to trailer, on the roads and mountains no other driver wanted to take. Earning him the C.B. handle Ridge Runner.

Father of Nolan Kent Andrew Rhodes, LeAndra Dawn Rhodes and 3 stepchildren, Monica, Jason & David, multiple grandchildren and great grandchildren. Adopted son of Mike & Nora Rhodes, brother of Charlene, Floyd, Bruce and Joanna. Ernie's biological parents preceded him in death.

Born in Emporia, Kansas, raised in Neosho, MO. Ernie worked for the family business of Mike's Heating & Air in Neosho, MO for most of his life, before eventually moving away to Fordland, MO, with his best friend & life partner Lynn Hargis Call, and beginning his trucking career. He held a HVAC certification, CNA license and CDL license.

Known for constantly cracking jokes and trying to be the life of any event. He was always trying to put a smile on someone's face. Lover of animals, friend to many and missed & loved by his family.

We sat up the Go Fund Me to help raise the needed funds to cover the cost of cremation, final expenses, and celebration of life ceremony at some time down the road. But also, and most importantly to help cover the cost of bringing dad home. All proceeds go to cover his final expenses, so the family can actually grieve without the worry of this huge, unexpected expense.
