Our family is going through one of the hardest moments we’ve ever faced, and we’re asking for help for someone who means the world to us—our beloved cousin, Ernesto Huraya.

Ernesto was recently diagnosed with severe kidney failure, and his life has changed overnight . He now depends on dialysis to survive and currently has a catheter placed on the right side of his chest for these treatments. Watching him go through this has been heartbreaking. Despite everything, he continues to stay strong in ways that inspire all of us.

Because of his condition, Ernesto has not been able to work, and the financial stress has become overwhelming. To make things even harder, he does not have health insurance. This has forced him into an incredibly difficult situation—he cannot receive regular dialysis at a clinic. Instead, he has to go to UT Hospital’s emergency room every time he needs treatment.

Each visit means waiting for hours, sometimes even longer, just to receive the dialysis he urgently needs. It’s exhausting, stressful, and not the kind of care anyone should have to rely on—especially someone fighting for their life.

Ernesto is truly one of the most loving, gentle, and selfless people you will ever meet. He has always been there for others without hesitation, always ready to help anyone in need. Now, he needs us.

Our family is doing everything we can, but the reality is that the medical bills, dialysis treatments, and everyday living expenses are quickly adding up beyond what we can handle alone.
