Alas, Dearest Family and Friends,
The time has come, as it will for us all. Our beloved Marion Ernest McMillan has gone to rest with the ancestors.
We are deeply grateful for each and every one of you—for your love, your prayers, and your continued support during this sacred time.
This is our final request as we complete this journey. The mission for our Patriarch is complete. We humbly ask for your help in reaching our goal so that his memorial service and matters for his final transition may truly reflect a life well lived—81 years of service, love, and dedication to humanity.
We still believe in US as a people, and in YOU as OUR family.
Love you all until time eternal.
With gratitude,
Angie, Dafina & Ohene

As Reference, Message from February 2026:
Our father, Ernest McMillan, is coming home.
In March, Ernest will be leaving his residence in Albuquerque, New Mexico, where he has lived for nearly five years, and returning to Dallas, Texas—the place that holds his roots, his people, and the community that has always been home.
This move is more than a change of address. It’s a step toward healing, comfort, and being surrounded by love during an incredibly difficult time.
Ernest is recovering from a stroke last year that affected his cognition and speech. In addition, his bladder cancer has taken a heartbreaking turn. The cancer has progressed to Stage 4, and despite completing chemotherapy, radiation, and beginning immunotherapy, the treatments are no longer working as doctors had hoped.
As he faces this critical chapter in his health journey, being surrounded by family—his son, grandson, sisters, nieces, nephews, cousins, and a deeply supportive community in Dallas—will make a world of difference in his day-to-day care, encouragement, and quality of life.
For those who know Ernest, you know his heart: he is a man committed to justice, to family, and to showing up for others. Now, we have the chance to show up for him in a way that helps bring him back home with dignity, stability, and peace, and the compassionate care he deserves.
We are raising funds to support Ernest’s transition and ongoing recovery, including:
- Cross-state moving costs and logistics
- Increased housing costs in Dallas
- Increased medical and treatment-related expenses
- Comprehensive wellness needs to support recovery
- Caregiver support so he can be cared for as fully as possible
A transition like this requires resources on every level—financial, physical, and emotional. Any gift, no matter the size, will help ease the strain of this move and help Ernest return home supported, covered, and surrounded by love.
Thank you for reading, sharing, donating, and holding our father in your prayers and your heart. Your support truly means more than we can express.
With gratitude,
Angie, Dafina & Ohene
