Hello, my name is Ernest King, and I’m sharing my story with you in one of the most difficult times of my life.

I was recently diagnosed with stage 4 colon cancer. This news has turned my world upside down. My life now revolves around doctor visits, scans, and treatments that are physically, emotionally, and financially draining.

Before my diagnosis, I was working hard to support myself, but due to the aggressive nature of my illness and the side effects of treatment, I’ve lost my employment. Now, I’m not only fighting for my life but also struggling to keep up with everyday expenses like rent, utilities, groceries, and transportation to and from medical appointments.

My treatment plan requires ongoing chemotherapy and frequent medical visits. Even with insurance, the out-of-pocket costs are overwhelming, and without a steady income, I’m falling behind. I never imagined I’d be in a position where I’d have to ask for help, but here I am—because right now, I can’t do this alone.
