Help Erin live life to the fullest

Dear community,

In August our friend, mentee, and fearless social justice warrior Erin Lacorte was diagnosed with hepatic angiosarcoma, a rare and aggressive type of soft tissue cancer. As their chosen family, we have supported Erin as they navigate what this diagnosis means for their future. This week, we learned that Erin’s oncology team does not recommend any traditional treatment as the condition is too advanced and Erin has a precious few weeks or months to live life to the fullest. Despite this diagnosis, we are trying to extend Erin’s time and comfort level by utilizing Ayurvedic treatment.

Anyone who has ever organized, or merely been in Erin’s presence, has witnessed their passion and limitless pursuit of justice. Erin has fought many battles that will benefit future generations of students and activists at Fullerton College and beyond. We are humbled to be in Erin’s close circle and know there are many people who want to support Erin and help make their remaining time here comfortable.

In recent weeks, Erin has reunited with their loving partner Kyleen who has committed to taking care of Erin throughout their palliative care and hospice. Erin and Kyleen are looking for immediate housing in the San Diego area and it is our hope that our community will raise enough funds to provide Erin with housing stability, nutritious food, and holistic healthcare to ease their pain and allow them the time and peace of mind, to live life to the fullest.
