My name is James, and I am organizing this fundraiser for my sister-in-law, Erin.

When I met her for the first time almost a decade ago, it was like running into an old friend. The kind of friend you were close to years ago that you’ve lost touch with, but who you’ve met again and you feel like no time has passed.

Unfortunately, Erin was recently diagnosed with breast cancer.

Her prognosis looks good, but treating the specific type of cancer she has, even with insurance, will be expensive. She is looking at intensive chemotherapy and surgery, and the list of side effects from these interventions will make it difficult for her to keep working. Additionally, my brother Joseph will need to take time off work to drive her to her various medical appointments.
