Hey y’all, my name is Erin Bogert and my husband, Eric, and I have 2 girls (ages 7 & 8). We live in Valrico, Fl near the alafia river. We were hit hard by Hurricane Milton and unfortunately, our home was flooded with about 3 feet of water.

Thankfully, we have flood insurance (but with a $5,000 deductible ) which will cover home repairs and essential items (think kitchen cabinets and appliances). However, we do not have coverage for our personal contents - furniture, rugs, mattress, etc. (we have looked into it, the cost is astronomical). Even with all the work we did to try and put things up, as well as over 90 sandbags at entrances, we lost 90% of all major items because the water was so much higher than what was projected. In addition, Eric will be stepping away from his usual work in order to get us back in our home as fast as possible, so income will be on hold as well. We will also have rent to pay on top of our mortgage until the work is complete.

We would be extremely grateful for ANY amount anyone is willing to contribute to help cover our extra living expenses as well as replacing our lost items. No amount is too small. If a lot of people do a little bit, it really adds up fast!
