Erin is a devoted single mom of three, a beloved teacher, cross country coach, and a master of karate. She has always been there for her family, students, and community, inspiring those around her with her strength and resilience. Now, Erin is facing one of the toughest battles of her life: stage 3 colorectal cancer. Her treatment plan includes 6–8 weeks of chemo pills and radiation, followed by IV chemotherapy (FOLFOX) that will continue through the summer and into the start of the school year. Erin is determined to keep working as much as her health allows, but there will be times when she must take unpaid leave under FMLA to focus on her recovery. The goal is to shrink the tumor and, hopefully, avoid surgery around October.
