In 2016, Erin was diagnosed with endometrial cancer. She had to undergo several surgeries including partial hysterectomy. Back in April, Erin went in for a series of tests to check up on a few concerns she had with her health. It was confirmed the endometrial cancer had spread into the tissues and lymphnodes in her lower abdomen. She completed a nine week treatment and is now preparing to undergo a major surgery. The surgery will be a full abdominal sweep (removing all infected tissue), removal of ovaries/fallopian tubes, and para aortic lymphnode removal. With this major surgery there will be weeks of recovery. Along with medical bills there will be expenses to cover travel, hospital stays, lodgings, supplies for recovery, and childcare, support etc. Her surgery will exceed $10k out of pocket expense. Her insurance is covering some, but denying her care sought through UAB. While Erin is contesting it, she is not sure when it will be covered and reimbursed. Erin is a single mom of a four year old girl and needs to be fully focused on healing and recovery, without the financial stress. If you’d like to show up for Erin in a tangible way, this Go Fund Me is your way to do just that. This will be raising money for Erin and Emma to cover surgery care for Erin — before, during, and after — as well as the additional expenses that come with having a parent fully focused on the intense work of healing and recovery while raising a toddler. Thank you for any and all support.
