Hello, Friends and my prayer warriors. My name is Erin Stout, a 41-year-old. I'm a Daughter to Wayne and Julie. An older Sister to Bret who has passed away from Cancer. A Wife of 15 years to Jeremy and a Mommy to 3 incredible little boys. I have twin, 10-year-olds Tyler & Bryce and a 7-year-old very busy guy, Brody. My health started on a downward spiral since having kiddo's in 2014. I had a blood clotting disorder and had several miscarriages. Life started to level out and I was happily working when I had a heart attack, seizure, stroke and then coded for 45mins. I got a pacemaker installed and still proceeded to have major heart failure issues where fluid built up in my lungs and my oxygen dropped and I was often rushed to Loyola with desperation to save my life. It was in 2000 when I went through the transplant evaluation which took about a year and I was placed on the active list for both heart & kidney as of November 1st, 2022. Life since then has been exhausting. I couldn't keep up with my 3 busy boys. No more walks & bike rides. I did get a scooter so I could follow them. Dialysis was quite challenging but possible as I did it when I slept. I just didn't feel well. I constantly fell asleep anywhere as I was constantly tired. I couldn't drive nor swim and missed out on a lot. I had prayed constantly alone, with Family and Friends and church. 2 months ago I received a call they found organs and I went as far as the Operating room but then told the heart wasn't viable to be used so was sent home. On July 8th we were blowing out candles in memory of my Brother's Birthday and I received a call that Loyola had an offer with a perfect match for a heart & kidney. I accepted the offer and was at the Hospital 2 hours, later. I had my heart transplant on July 9th and came back to icu with an open chest and proceeded with the kidney transplant July 11th and then they closed my chest. My recovery has been quite the challenge with lots of hiccups along the journey but I am able to walk with assistance now, feed myself and am slowly but surely learning how to do things again! Yey!!
I'm fundraising to pay for the costs of hospital procedures that my insurance doesn't cover, so that I receive the necessary care and support.
Your donations will cover my medical bills, purchase necessary medications, and fund physical therapy sessions. I thought I was prepared for this but definitely underestimated things financially. There are several medical things I'll need once I go home that I don't have. The bills will start flooding and I am unable to work and my Husband's income isn't enough to keep us afloat for my recovery. I've gotten this far and hoping I can receive some donations of any kind for a little help. I am saddened that Loyola made a GoFundMe page but they said it takes a village and wants me to succeed so I can finally start thriving and living my life to the fullest. I really do appreciate all who donate, share the page to get the word out throughout the community. Much love! ❤️
