If you know Erin Hotchkiss, better known to many as “Mad Max” from the Big Butt Morning Show, you know she is the kind of person who shows up for everyone. She’s the one who makes you laugh when you need it most, who gives without hesitation, and who carries a heart bigger than most people could ever imagine. Now, Erin needs us. She has recently been diagnosed with squamous cell carcinoma of the mouth and is facing a difficult road ahead. She will be traveling to the Mayo Clinic on April 7th and 8th just for initial appointments with her care team. Before treatment has even begun, the required prepayment alone is an overwhelming burden that doesn’t yet include surgery, follow-up care, or the many unknowns that come with a cancer diagnosis. No one prepares for this. No one plans for this. Erin has spent years lifting others up, bringing joy to her community, volunteering for various organizations and being a light in so many lives. Now it’s our turn to stand behind her and to show her the same love, generosity, and support she has always given so freely.
