Support Erin Arthur's Journey to Health and Stability

Hi everybody, my name is Jane Ponte and I’m reaching out to help a friend, Erin Arthur. I’ve known Erin since the early 80s, and she’s a very dear friend. Erin is one of the hardest working and strongest people I know and has overcome so much adversity throughout her life. She has been unable to work much since contracting COVID in 2020. She eventually was able to test negative in 2020, but the symptoms of long COVID persist for Erin, and they are debilitating and life-altering. She has basically lost everything, including her job, her car, a beautiful apartment, and her ability to work with and help others, which is central to her spiritual walk.

Most recently, a new set of issues have presented themselves and now she has lost the ability to comprehend everyday things, such as the instructions on a cake mix or a recipe. Her beloved pastime of watching football and cheering for her favorite teams is gone because the rules of the game, which she once knew so well, are confusing and foreign to her now. She tries to “talk-to-text” on her phone because she has developed Parkinson’s-like symptoms, such as tremors and issues with her stability and balance now, but that often proves to be too much of a challenge to her as well. She is isolated and cut off from her small circle of friends. She is waiting on an MRI at this time and doing her best to navigate this scary new set of circumstances she is battling. Every day is a struggle; she is presently covered head to toe with purple bruises from falling and banging into things. She is alone with her 2 cats in her apartment in Florida and needs help paying for a potentially life-improving medical procedure that insurance will not cover. It is called a Stellate Ganglion Block, and it costs $1500.00, which Erin does not have.

Long COVID is very real and exceedingly debilitating to those who have it. Some of the challenges people with long COVID face are anxiety, brain fog, loss of taste/smell, depression, fatigue, dizziness/loss of balance, unexplained fever, confusion, stomach problems, hair loss, rashes, shortness of breath, sleep disturbances, and many others. Erin has had all of these symptoms on and off for the past 4 years, but she has still not given up on finding a solution for these problems. The Stellate Ganglion Block could provide the much-needed relief that Erin so desperately needs. It has been proven to help 86% of long COVID patients, and I’m hoping it will help Erin if she can come up with the money to receive it. I can unequivocally say that if the situation weren’t so dire, Erin and I would not be asking for this help. She truly needs this, and she is 100% deserving of our help and support.
