Hello everyone! My name is Esmeralda Ortega, and my beautiful mother, Erika, just recently got diagnosed with triple-negative breast cancer on April 11th. We also found out earlier this year that she has a tumor in her brain, called a meningioma, as well. For those of you that don't know, triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC), accounts for roughly 10-15% of all breast cancer patients, and is one of the most aggressive forms of breast cancer. Because of this, it tends to grow and spread faster than other types of breast cancers, and unfortunately has less treatment options available. But, her team of doctors are working very hard to ensure that she receives the best treatment possible, and we have a lot of faith that she will be okay. She has a very long journey ahead of her, with at least 16 rounds of chemo and multiple surgeries. With that being said, I am making this GoFundMe in the hopes of raising some money to help my family be able to afford and provide my mom with all of the things she will be needing, as she won’t be able to work any time soon.
