Support Erika's Battle Against Colon Cancer

Erika has been fighting colon cancer for almost twelve years. During this time, she has remained very positive. Erika has had many surgeries for helping with her cancer diagnosis. She has had resection of her colon and liver and numerous lymph nodes removed, as well as a tumor removed from her spine. She was diagnosed with stage 3c cancer twelve years ago. It went to her liver one month later, leaving her with stage four colon cancer.

After finding this out, she had radiation beads shot to the tumor. Later, the PET scan said one of the tumors was still active, leaving her with getting 60 percent of her liver resected. This helped for a few years. No chemo for two years. We were so excited. It was a great feeling.

A couple of years later, her back started to hurt. She had a CT scan, and the oncologist found a tumor on her back. She had surgery on her back and removed what they could of the tumor and put a ladder bracing her back. Back on chemo again.

At present, her tumor on her back is back and now is inoperable, and since taking chemo for 9 out of 12 years of being on different chemo regimens every two weeks, the chemo is taking its toll. Because of the chemo treatments, its beginning to affect her lungs, and it makes breathing difficult.

Erika has been doing in her home daycare business. She has taught and worked with hundreds of children in her business for 30 plus years, and she cares for each of those children as if they were her own. She loves them all and is very proud of all of them.

Erika has two children, Meagan and Melissa. Now she needs help so she can live comfortably. We also need to adjust our home to make it more accessible for her.

Any contribution can help live her life with the least amount of stress possible.

Funds are going to be used to household improvements--getting a scooter for helping with mobility, medical bills.
