Hi everyone,
My name is Erika Baksh, and we recently received heartbreaking news. On September 15th, I was diagnosed with Stage 3B colon cancer. Just two weeks later—on September 29th—I married the love of my life. What should have been the happiest time of our lives quickly became one filled with doctor visits, treatment plans, and difficult decisions about the future.
My chemotherapy is set to begin on December 8th, and while I’m ready to fight this cancer with everything I have, there’s something deeply personal I need help with before treatment starts.
Chemotherapy will most likely destroy my fertility, meaning I may never be able to have biological children after treatment. The only way to preserve that possibility is to freeze my eggs before chemo begins. Unfortunately, this process isn’t covered by insurance, and the cost is about $12,000 upfront not including the weekly medication and every two day labs— money we simply don’t have after the medical bills and wedding expenses that have already added up.
I’m asking for help—something that’s not easy for me to do—to give us a chance to have a family someday when this battle is behind us.
Every dollar helps. Truly. Whether you can donate or share this link, you’re helping me protect a piece of hope for the future — a future beyond cancer.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart for reading, sharing, and supporting us during this time.
With love and gratitude,
Erika & Reshard Baksh
