Hello, my name is Erika, and I am a single mother to my baby boy, Jeremiah. We are survivors of domestic violence, and I am currently in the middle of a difficult custody case that has become incredibly stressful and overwhelming despite having a current no contact restraining order that has lists us both as protected parties.

My son has ongoing health issues that involve special needs and therapies. In this process I have needed to manage his multiple therapy sessions and other medical follow-ups while navigating this case that is currently filed outside of the county my son and I reside in. His care has always been and remains established where we live, and consistency is extremely important for his progress, safety and medical stability.

I have been doing everything I can to handle this case on my own, but the legal process has become very complicated and is far more than I can manage without professional help. As a DV survivor, I am trying to make sure my voice is heard and that my son’s needs and his safety remain the priority. The way the case is being handled has made it harder for me to protect my child’s stability and safety, and I need legal representation to ensure that the proper laws and procedures are followed.

I am asking for help — not for myself alone, but so that I can protect my son’s safety, healthcare, and stability. Any amount you can contribute will help me secure the legal support needed to make sure my child’s needs and safety are prioritized and respected.

Somos sobrevivientes de violencia doméstica y actualmente estoy en medio de un difícil caso de custodia que se ha vuelto increíblemente estresante y abrumador, a pesar de tener una orden de restricción vigente que nos incluye a ambos como personas protegidas.

Mi hijo tiene problemas de salud crónicos que requieren necesidades especiales y terapias. Durante este proceso, he tenido que coordinar sus múltiples sesiones de terapia y otros seguimientos médicos, al tiempo que gestiono este caso que actualmente se encuentra fuera del condado donde residimos mi hijo y yo. Su atención médica siempre ha estado y sigue estando establecida en nuestro domicilio, y la continuidad es fundamental para su progreso, seguridad y estabilidad médica.

He hecho todo lo posible por manejar este caso por mi cuenta, pero el proceso legal se ha vuelto muy complicado y me supera con creces sin ayuda profesional. Como sobreviviente de violencia doméstica, me esfuerzo por que mi voz sea escuchada y que las necesidades y la seguridad de mi hijo sigan siendo la prioridad. La forma en que se está manejando el caso me dificulta proteger la estabilidad y la seguridad de mi hijo, y necesito representación legal para garantizar que se sigan las leyes y los procedimientos adecuados.
