My name is Odalys Santana. My son, Erik Santana, was a crime victim last year in a road rage incident. He has several injuries; he was shot twice, and his spinal cord is broken at T2. After 10 months, we have a lot of problems bringing my son to his doctor's appointments because of his condition. I had to stop working to take care of my son because he doesn't have disability proof yet. Until he gets disability, we don't have anybody to help. I take care of him with his condition right now. The only way I can provide for my son is if I go back to work, which is impossible because his mental and medical condition is critical. I requested help from the victims' crime program, but they only cover medical bills and not old medical bills. I've tried many different charities, but I have had no results. I don't know how much longer we can keep this apartment because I'm behind on my rent and bills. I don't have a way to transport my son to see the doctors. The only way he leaves this apartment is when I call 911 for the emergency room, and trust me, it's been a lot of times. Please help my family; don't leave me and my son on the street. I would really appreciate it.
