Eric Thompson aka " Yardy" Suffers Aortic Dissection & Needs our Help

Eric, known to his family, friends, and community as a hardworking and resilient soul, has always been the first to lend a helping hand.

On December 12, 2024, Eric Thompson, lovingly known as Yardy faced a life-altering medical emergency.

Eric suffered an Aortic Dissection and Heart Aneurysm, requiring him to be airlifted to UF Shands Heart and Vascular Hospital for emergency open-heart surgery.

While the skilled medical team was able to save his life, the ordeal came with devastating complications.

The dissection caused significant damage to Eric’s kidneys and led to Critical Limb Ischemia (CLI), which restricts blood flow to the arms, legs, and feet. As a result, Eric endured the unimaginable: The amputation of both legs and his left hand.

Eric is a fighter, but his journey to recovery is far from over. He now faces the challenge of adapting to life with prosthetic limbs while managing ongoing medical expenses.

To help Eric regain mobility, independence, and a sense of normalcy, we are seeking to raise $40,000 to cover:

-Medical bills from life-saving procedures.

-Prosthetic limbs to restore his ability to walk and function.

-Living expenses

Eric has always been a beacon of strength and positivity to those around him.
