Support Veteran's Heart Surgery Journey

Donation protected
My brother Eric and his wife, Amy, are facing significant challenges as they prepare for his upcoming, and very unexpected, open-heart surgery in California, where they were visiting Amy's mom for Christmas. Eric is a retired veteran who served our country for 20 years in the Marines.

Eric became ill and had to be taken to the ER with severe pain and nausea.
After several days and multiple tests at the nearby hospital, doctors determined that he has a staph blood infection and also that the infection has reached his heart, causing an abscess.

Because his medical situation is so complicated, he had to be transferred to UCSF Medical Center in San Francisco, where they have an advanced cardiology unit for the open-heart surgery that Eric will need ASAP.

This hospital is about 3.5 hours away from Amy's mother's house, where they had been staying, and Amy will be staying in San Francisco with him for at least a couple of months while he has his surgery and recovery time.

We're asking for support to help cover:
  • Travel expenses to and from the hospital
  • Meals and basic necessities during Eric's hospital stay and recovery
  • Additional medical expenses or supplies not covered by insurance
  • Emergency funds for unexpected expenses

We're aiming to raise $8,000 to ensure that Eric and Amy can focus entirely on his recovery without the added stress of financial burden. Your contribution, no matter the size, will make a meaningful difference in their journey.
