One of my dearest friends needs our help. Below is her story.

“At 12:30 am on Saturday, January 18th, I got the worst call of my life! My husband, Eric Johnson, was rushed to the ER from his work. When I got to the hospital, I was told he had a massive stroke caused by an aneurysm. He is in critical condition with a prognosis of a high mortality rate. Today, we took him off sedation to see if his brain could understand commands. The nurse asked him to give a thumbs up, and he was able to raise his arm, turn his wrist, and give a thumbs up!!! He is still not completely conscious, but he can hear us, and his brain was able to follow commands. Our family asks for prayers at this time.”

There has been little change in his condition and/or prognosis, and regardless, this will be a long road to recovery. This will hopefully help with medical and household expenses while Eric and Rebecca focus on Eric’s recovery!

1-24-2025 - UPDATE: Eric has a couple of very small DVTs in his right arm. Pray that his body absorbs them before they do any damage. Because of his brain bleed he can not have any anticoagulants. His are is very swollen. As long as it doesn't get cold or turn colors they are just going to monitor it. The only other option is surgery but his body and brain are not strong enough to handle a surgery. We are keeping him in a dark room with very little noise so his brain can heal more over the weekend and he has a CT scan scheduled for Monday morning to see where we are at. Our family is so blessed to have everyone's prayers,love and support
