Erick has developed Hepatopulmonary Syndrome and needs a new liver as soon as possible. We had hoped to avoid the transplant until, just in the last few months, he began to get winded and short of breath and began having to use oxygen. After multiple tests and evaluations, we were told that a new liver is the only option. Erick is currently having to wear oxygen pretty much 24/7. There is no cure or treatment outside of him getting a new liver. He is pretty much confined to the house since the portable oxygen does not last more than a couple of hours now that he needs 3 liters to keep his oxygen saturation up. Between doctors appointment co-pays, medicine, gas to drive back and forth, medical deductibles, and the things insurance does not even cover,we are struggling. April has already used several of her vacation days to take care of Erick, and will need to miss more when he has the transplant. Any help is appreciated.
