Hi. My name is Erica. Seven years ago, I started my job, and just five months in, I began having repeated grand mal seizures. I was off work for four months until I was stable. For almost four years, I was doing well—no seizures, no sickness, just being able to reach the level of normalcy I had before my diagnosis.
In September 2025, I started having seizures again, constantly and without an end in sight. I was off work for months, making very little, and started to lose hope that I would catch up on any bills. Just recently, I went for a follow-up and was informed I wasn’t ready to return to work and that would be the case for at least six more months. There was hurt, confusion, devastation, and a sense that things just weren’t turning around for me. Still, I choose to keep going, even when it’s easy to give up. My income has drastically changed and will continue to change.
Asking for help is never easy for anyone, but for me, it’s especially difficult. But here I am. Anything you’re able to give—even if it’s just a share—is more than enough. I thank you in advance for it all. I just want to get caught up on bills and be able to take care of monthly expenses in my house for my three kids. Thank you again for your support.
