Hi everyone,

I’m reaching out on behalf of my dear friend, Erica, who is currently facing an incredibly difficult and high-risk pregnancy.

At just 23 weeks pregnant, Erica’s water unexpectedly broke, and she was immediately admitted to a hospital in Morgantown, WV for emergency care. She’s been dealing with a hemorrhage throughout her pregnancy, and now she’s in early labor. Doctors are doing everything they can to keep her stable and help her baby stay safe and growing for as long as possible. The goal is to keep her in the hospital for at least 10 more weeks — a long and emotionally draining stay, but one that could mean everything for her and her baby’s health.

Unfortunately, Erica does not have access to short-term disability, PTO, or FMLA, which means she has no income while being hospitalized. The stress of mounting medical bills, combined with the basic cost of living, is overwhelming during what should be a time focused on rest and healing.

Erica is one of the kindest and strongest people I know, and she would never ask for help unless she truly needed it. But right now, she does — and she needs our help more than ever.
