Erica—whether you know her as Grens, Greanya, Chuck, Chuckattack, Chuckica, or Eurica—is a devoted mom & wife, a beloved daughter & sister, cherished friend, and a respected colleague. It is these connections and the love we have for her that brings us to this page.

In December 2021, Erica was diagnosed with breast cancer. She faced this challenge with incredible resilience, undergoing multiple surgeries, including a double mastectomy, all while raising her two young sons. In 2022, we were thrilled to hear the news that Erica was cancer-free, with a 4% chance of it ever returning. However, despite the initial good news, the cancer returned in a more aggressive form as stage 4 metastatic breast cancer, which has spread to her liver, bones, and lymph nodes.

While Erica is undergoing weekly chemotherapy treatments, she has the opportunity to receive an adjunctive treatment that could help her fight the cancer and allow her more time with her family. Unfortunately, this treatment is costly and not covered by insurance. Additionally, it requires Erica to travel four hours each week from her home in Courtney, British Columbia, to the lower mainland, which adds significant costs for travel, accommodation, and other necessary care.

We are raising funds specifically to support Erica’s adjunctive treatment. This is an important step in her healing process, and any support you can offer will help ease the burden of these additional costs.

Erica has always been a source of strength, and with the support of her community, she can continue fighting with the same courage.
