My name is Steve, and I'm raising funds for a friend and incredible colleague, Erica Peña.

Erica has dedicated her time to giving back to her community, spending the last 14 years working in schools in various different roles. She currently serves as the Family Enrichment Specialist at Community School PS 195, where she dedicates herself every day to supporting children, parents, and the school community. Whether she's connecting families to vital resources, leading workshops, helping parents navigate difficult situations, or simply being someone they can count on, Erica has touched the lives of countless families through her compassion and commitment.

On Wednesday, August 5, a devastating explosion in Erica's apartment building sparked a five-alarm fire. Two people tragically lost their lives, and many others were critically injured. Thankfully, Erica was safe at work when the explosion occurred, but her apartment was completely destroyed. She lost everything—her home, furniture, clothing, and personal belongings.

Erica has spent years helping others through their most difficult moments. Now, it's our turn to help her.
