Friends and Family,

We are reaching out to ask for your support for our dear friend, Erica Gilliland, who underwent extensive brain surgery on August 29th to remove a mass. As she begins her recovery, we hope to lighten her financial burden by assisting with out-of-pocket medical co-payments and deductibles, as well as monthly bills and other expenses.

Erica's journey began in 2020 with vision and balance issues, along with severe nosebleeds. A CT scan confirmed a mass, and her neurologist, Dr. Sorenson, monitored it closely with scans every six months. The doctor advised that as long as the mass did not grow, it would be left alone.

In March 2025, a routine scan revealed that the mass had grown by 2mm. Dr. Sorenson determined it was time for surgical removal. After a challenging search for a working MRI machine in Memphis, which showed fluid around the mass, Erica's surgery was finally performed on August 29th. She has shown incredible strength, and nearly three weeks post-op, she describes her recovery as "brutal, but each day gets a little better."

Erica is expected to have a recovery period of six to eight weeks, which may be extended pending pathology reports. As a self-employed massage therapist, her inability to work means a loss of income for her small business. We want to ensure she and John do not have to worry about falling behind on bills due to unforeseen medical expenses, general living costs, and supporting their family.

Erica has always demonstrated an incredible servant's heart, deeply involved in her community and a constant support for her family and friends. Despite enduring significant losses in her lifetime, she consistently prioritizes the needs of others. She is a courageous, genuine, and grateful woman whose primary request is always for prayers. In this instance, however, we have an opportunity to give back to her. Let us continue to pray for Erica while also providing her with some peace of mind for the coming weeks or months, allowing her to heal without financial worry.
