Hello folks, we are raising the Goal of $24,000 because we learned Eric will need more skilled nursing care for tor this operation and several more he will require.
To recap: we are log time friends of Eric Yamamoto, who is suffering from critical and multiple medical problems which his insurance will not cover. Eric is like family to us, in Hawaii and the Mainland, and has offered a lifetime of friendship, inspiring teaching and mentoring at the Richardson School of Law in Honolulu, a fierce devotion to human and civil rights, many moments of inadvertent and unintended humor, and much more.
His life, both as a teacher, writer and lawyer has been devoted to human rights and Justice and his contributions to the Rule of Law are inspiring and involvement in issues are remarkable:
- Member of Coram Nobis Legal team for Fred Korematsu, Gordon Hirabayashi and Min Yasui
- Lawsuit to recover Ferdinand Marcos stolen millions of dollars
- Advisor to the claimants of the Je Ju massacre in South Korea
- Advisor Tulsa Race massacre reparations claimants
- Advisor Native Hawaiian Sovereignty
- Many more campaigns and issues too numerous to list
- Creations of innovative legal programs to advnace opportunities for marginalized peoples
We rarely meet such a gentle and honorable soul in our lifetimes.
We are trying to raise a fund to help he needs 24/7 care at an Assisted Nursing Care, before, during, and after the multiple surgeries which will cost about $24,000 for 4 months. His health insurance companies are not cooperative and will undoubtedly dispute his needs. So we are appealing to you to help. For all Eric has given to people in his lifetime, we want him to continue in life as a warrior for us all. Whatever you can offer will be appreciated! Thank you in advance for your support!
