Hi my name is Tamara Varela and I am Eric's sister in law. It is with broken hearts that we share the sudden passing of Eric Varela—a devoted father, son, brother, and friend. Eric left us far too soon on May 16,2025 and his absence is deeply felt by all who knew and loved him.

Eric had a smile that was truly contagious and a sense of humor that could brighten even the darkest day. He was passionate about Jiu-Jitsu, where he not only trained with passion but also built a strong and supportive community. But above all, Eric was a family man. He was a proud and loving father to his three sons: Eric Varela Jr., Lucas Varela, and Liam Varela. His boys were his world, and he poured his heart into being the best dad he could be.

Eric’s love extended beyond his children—he was a caring son, a loyal brother, and a friend who always showed up for others. His warmth, laughter, and strength will be missed more than words can express.

We are reaching out to our friends and family to help support Eric’s family during this incredibly difficult time. The funds raised will go toward funeral expenses and to help provide for his children as they navigate life without their father.
