Eric Theis is a cherished member of the Bishop Ryan Catholic school community, known for his dedication and willingness to help wherever he’s needed. Whether he’s teaching drivers ed, substitute teaching, driving the bus, running the clock at basketball and volleyball games, assisting in the athletic department, or working the chain gang during home football games, Eric’s positive impact is felt by students, staff, and families alike.
On January 12th, Eric was transported from the walk-in clinic to Trinity Hospital and admitted to the ICU with severe dehydration, an elevated heart rate, and dangerously low blood pressure. The next morning, he was diagnosed with an unknown infection and sepsis, which caused his kidneys to shut down and affected other organs as well. Eric’s recovery has been challenging, involving intensive treatments, dialysis, and a long hospital stay. After 13 days, he was finally able to return home, but his journey is far from over. He continues to require dialysis and ongoing medical care, and it’s uncertain how long his kidneys will take to recover.
During this time, Eric is unable to work and faces mounting medical bills. The funds raised will help cover his medical expenses and provide support while he focuses on healing. Eric has always been there for his BRCS community, and now he needs our help. Any contribution, big or small, will make a difference and show Eric how much he is valued. Thank you for your kindness, support, and encouragement as Eric works toward recovery.
