Support Eric Slate's Recovery Journey

Hi, my name is Elisha and, along with friends and family, we are asking for your help to support one of our dear friends with medical expenses due to a tragic accident that happened in November. I will try my best to summarize everything, but please know that it is a very hard time and anything helps this family!

Charlotte and Eric Slate are the type of people who would give the shirt off their backs to help someone in need. I have seen them help people firsthand, myself included. While they were helping Charlotte's parents go to Florida for the winter, Eric found himself in an accident that caused many injuries, including, but not limited to, a tear in his meniscus and a broken tibia and fibula.

This resulted in the family (their youngest daughter included) being stuck in North Carolina for several surgeries. With the help of family, their daughter made it home safe just a few weeks before Christmas. However, Charlotte and Eric were stuck in another state with Christmas quickly approaching and many surgeries in the future.

Thankfully, Eric made it through his surgeries and got home the week of Christmas. They had to put in prosthetic pieces to make sure his leg would heal properly (rods, screws, etc.), and it would be a long road. Unfortunately, this has led to Eric being unable to work and Charlotte only able to work from home.

As anyone knows, losing an income affects a lot of normal everyday life things. Charlotte is sustaining by herself to support her family and take care of her husband, which can be very stressful on a person, but she is still working and taking work calls to take care of the hairstylists and salons she loves so much. A few weeks after they were home and after several doctor's appointments, Eric found himself with an infection that the surgeons said could not be avoided, unfortunately. This has led to Eric being in the hospital with sepsis.

Eric has been in the hospital for several weeks, with more surgeries done and more on the way to find and heal the infection and also still heal his leg at the same time. This will lead to MONTHS of recovery time with Eric being unable to work and insurance NOT covering all of the procedures.
