Support Eric Nelson's Family After Car Accident

Hello There,

Probably most of you know me already, but for those who don't my name is Eric Nelson. I am a 50yo Type 1 diabetic widower.
I live in Vancouver, WA. with my two teen-agers. We moved here in 2019 from Austin, Tx., and that took everything to accomplish. Despite everything that followed in the 2 years after (CoVid Pandemic, etc.), I managed to find work and build back up. The kids did better in school here, which was a large part of the motive to relocate and that helped motivate me.

Last year I lost my job at the university, I tightened the financial belt and we marshaled on, content to make due with less.
Recently, I was in a car accident. Didn't hit anybody, the airbags deployed and then the car hit a concrete divider. I am still receiving physical therapy but have gotten much better.
The recuperation time got us behind on bills and now rent. There was no insurance money from the accident, nor settlement money from the manufacturer for the recalled airbags, though I am still pursuing legal compensation, I am told it will be a long process.

We are struggling through the Back to School period this year, it's Perrin's first semester at Clark Community College, and Sagan's Junior year of high school. I am trying my best to guarantee their continued academic success with stable housing, but now I have to reach out for help.

If you are struggling too, I understand being unable to make a donation, please just share the link to boast the reach of our request for help.

Update:
WE paid rent for September and avoided eviction proceedings!!!

I am overwhelmed with the generosity, compassion, love, and consideration from friends and family I haven't seen since moving to the Pacific Northwest, and some even decades before that. So many have reached out by phone, email, or texts with words of support and encouragement.

Y'all have shown me the strength of bonds of friendship and family even when forged decades long past.
as my cousin reminded me in a phone call last week, "you're a good guy and people like you". It is all too easy to get down on yourself, when you go through tough times and can't provide for your family.

There are still some outstanding utility bills and of course rent for October now, so donations will now go to that. Please share the link on social media to boast our reach to meet all of our goals!
