On May 20th Eric found out he has stage 3 lung cancer. Eric had an MRI on his brain on June 8 in order to rule out anything besides his lung cancer.  Sadly, 20 minutes later Eric received a call telling him to head straight to the nearest Emergency Room Hospital. Eric headed to UCSF . The brain scan found 5 minor tumors and 1 large 5.5 cm tumor that is pushing his brains center line 1 cm causing major brain pressure. Brain surgery was not an option for Eric. Eric was admitted to USCF and thats when he started his 13 treatments of full brain radiation to control the 6 brain tumors. Eric completed his last treatment on June 29th. The results of the radiation takes time to show results. Eric is in pain, very weak and tired but is staying positive. Permanent short term memory loss is expected as a result of the brain radiation. Eric has scheduled appointments at UCSF to prepare for his next battle to overcome his lung cancer.

He is home resting and is receiving 24hr care to monitor his breathing and help with basic living needs. Eric cant stand on his own . He needs complete care. Eric wants to be home during this fight for his life. Donations dollar will go to Erics living care and to make sure Eric has the best chance to overcome this battle. Eric has state provided insurance and with help Eric has applied for all available assistance but the process and results have been little positivity.

Erics fundraiser is to keep him home during his treatments, give him the best and comfortable full time living care provided to Erics choice ,cost of rent ,travel from appointments and treatments.  Eric has limited strength and he needed to be in a wheelchair to get around.

Eric is also ready to fight with a trial experimental treatment that insurance will not  cover. Eric is asking to help him with the best chance to WIN.

In our lives, Eric has always been recognized as a cheerful individual who brings light to each space he enters. He has consistently been dependable and a loyal friend. Painting has been one of Eric's coping mechanisms since his mother passed away from cancer when he was in his early 30s; he puts his all into every painting.

This is significant to us since Eric plays a significant role in our lives and has had a profound influence on all of us. We want to give him the high-quality treatment he requires; the funds received will be major mental stress relief for him as he will know he can fight his way.
