Help Build the Bifröst Initiative: A Sanctuary for Growth, Connection & Renewal

Own Every Hour — Rebuild the Bridge Between Spirit, Nature, and Community.

The Vision
I'm working to rebuild and renew a piece of land that has been in my family for three generations — a place where nature, history, and purpose meet. On this property, along the banks of the Contoocook River in the village of Penacook, New Hampshire, I'm building a new home and launching The Bifröst Initiative — a space dedicated to life coaching, transformational retreats, and community gatherings.

My dream is to create a living, breathing environment where people can rediscover balance, purpose, and connection — not just through conversation, but through the land itself.

The Land and Its Legacy
The property rests on the Contoocook River — one of the few rivers in New Hampshire that flows northward, once known to the native Pennacook people as the place of the river near pines. The name Penacook itself means rocky place, reflecting the enduring strength of the landscape and the people who have lived here for centuries.

This area holds deep historical roots. In the late 1800s, the nearby Contoocook River Park became a beloved community destination, filled with laughter, steamboat rides, and music echoing across the water. Though the park closed a century ago, its spirit of gathering and joy lives on.

Through the Bifröst Initiative, I hope to honor this heritage — reconnecting the land's past with a new purpose that celebrates healing, reflection, and community.

The Vision for the Space

This project will feature:
A handcrafted post-and-beam structure — to host classes, workshops, and community events.

⛺ Two retreat tents — for participants to fully immerse themselves in nature during transformational weekends.

Three yurts — for staff and extended-stay guests during retreats and short-term rental stays.

A new home built on the property — designed to be both sustainable and sacred, serving as the heart of the space.

Community gardens and riverside seating — open to everyone, so residents can experience the space without needing to buy or book anything.

Every structure, from the home to the gathering spaces, will be built with intention — blending Nordic craftsmanship, natural materials, and respect for the rhythms of the land.

Why "The Bifröst Initiative"?

In Norse mythology, Bifröst is the rainbow bridge connecting the human world (Midgard) to the realm of the divine (Asgard). For me, this symbolizes the path of transformation — the bridge between where we are and who we are becoming.

My Nordic pagan spiritual path shapes every part of this project. The Bifröst Initiative isn't just a business — it's a sacred commitment to help others reconnect with themselves, each other, and the natural world.

❄️ The Spirit of Nordic Culture in the Bifröst Initiative
The Bifröst Initiative draws inspiration not only from Norse mythology, but from the living values of Nordic culture — a tradition rooted in connection, cooperation, and respect for nature.
In the Nordic worldview, people are part of a greater ecosystem — not separate from it. Life flows in cycles, just like the seasons, and each phase has its own lessons and gifts. This sense of rhythm, humility, and balance is central to how I approach coaching and retreats.

Much like the Nordic countries themselves, this project is built on principles of:
Harmony with nature — creating in alignment with the land and its natural beauty.
Trust and equality — fostering community through openness, respect, and shared purpose.
Simplicity and warmth — embracing the hyggelig way of living: finding peace in the simple and meaningful.
❄️ Seasonal mindfulness — honoring each part of the year as a time for reflection, growth, and renewal.
The Bifröst Initiative embodies these values — a bridge between heritage and modern life, self and community, body and spirit. It's a living expression of the Nordic principle that when we live in balance with the world around us, we truly begin to Own Every Hour.

About Eric Ham – Founder of the Bifröst Initiative
I'm Eric Ham, a life coach, spiritual guide, and founder of the Bifröst Initiative, a sanctuary for growth, reflection, and connection along the Contoocook River in Penacook, NH. My work is deeply rooted in the Nordic pagan tradition, blending mindfulness, nature, and practical guidance to help people reconnect with themselves, their purpose, and the rhythms of life.
The Bifröst Initiative grows from both my personal journey and my family's legacy — land that has been in our care for three generations. Here, I'm building a new home, and a post-and-beam structure for classes, workshops, and gatherings, yurts for retreat staff and short-term rentals for guests, tent spaces for participants, and open gardens freely accessible to the community. Every element is designed to create a space of balance, reflection, and renewal.

My mission is to help people Own Every Hour — to slow down, reconnect with nature, honor their inner wisdom, and cultivate meaningful relationships with themselves and others. The Bifröst Initiative is more than a retreat center; it is a living bridge between heritage, spirituality, and conscious community.

How You Can Help
Your support will go directly toward:

Building the post-and-beam structure for retreats and classes
Installing yurts and tents for guests and staff
Developing community gardens and outdoor gathering spaces
Preparing the land and building the new home base for The Bifröst Initiative

Every contribution — no matter the size — helps lay the next stone in this bridge between heritage and healing.

A Place to Belong
This project is about more than structures. It's about reclaiming time, space, and connection — for ourselves and for those yet to come. By supporting The Bifröst Initiative, you're helping create a place where the past is honored, the present is cherished, and the future is built with intention.

Together, we can bring this vision to life — where community, spirituality, and renewal meet on the banks of the Contoocook River.
