Support Eric Boateng's Road to Recovery

Hello everyone! This GoFundMe is for 16 year old Eric Boateng. On July 19, 2025, Eric was involved in a very narrowly fatal car accident on 89 South in Wickenburg. Eric was in Prescott (Camp Wamatochick), attending a leadership retreat for Rotary District 5495’s Interact District Council. At the time of the crash, Eric was making his way down to Anthem, AZ, to catch a flight to Washington, DC the next morning, to attend the Bank of America Student Leaders Summit, a leadership program he is also involved with. Eric left Prescott at around 6:00 PM, with the sun still out. Tragically, a road block forced a 1 hour 30 minute trip to turn into a 3 hour trip, forcing a daring trip on US South 89 and US 93 at night. At an intersection soon about to merge on the US 93, Eric was struck on his driver side, causing a T-bone accident.

Luckily, Eric’s car was struck on the hood, and not his driver’s side door. The accident caused Eric and the other person’s car to be flung into a grass field, where Eric was knocked out unconscious. While he was unconscious, the second party’s car caught on fire. Eric woke up just in time, and gathered all of his strength to escape the vehicle, as there was a spreading fire in a grass field. Eric was eventually moved to safety by good samaritans; however his car became fully engulfed in flames. All of Eric’s belongings (phone, MacBook, AirPods, chargers, clothes, water bottle, glasses, and many more) were brought to ash in the fire, leaving Eric with virtually nothing.

Eric was airlifted to Phoenix Children’s Hospital, where he suffered a broken femur, fractured ankle, various lacerations, and an injured hip. He was immediately transferred to the trauma center, then had surgery performed to attend to his wounds. It is nothing but a blessing that he survived. Doctors cite his survival as a miracle, as he was close to paralysis or even death had the accident gone differently. Thankfully, Eric will make a full recovery from the crash in the coming months. But up until then, he is wheelchair and walker bound.
