Hello, my name is Eric Bell and recently I have been given an amazing opportunity to perform at Carnegie Hall in New York City.

Ever since I was young, I had been interested in music. I would often hum pieces that I heard on the radio or tap out rhythms on my desk during class. Eventually, I decided to continue this interest by beginning to learn the piano, learning how to play pieces made by great composers like Beethoven and Mozart. After a while I wanted more out of music than just the piano, so I started to expand my musicianship. I began to compose my own songs, arranging and recording them on my computer. I began to learn how to play other instruments such as the saxophone. And I began to dedicate more of my time to honing in my skills as a musician. Now, all of this dedication has paid off.

At around the time of May of this year, my band director at my high school nominated me to perform with the "Honors Performance Series" program. Being nominated meant that I had a chance to be a part of this program, which would perform at different places such as Carnegie Hall and the Sydney Opera House. After hearing that I could perform in places as prestigious as those, I began to get to work. I began practicing everyday, perfecting the pieces that I had to play for them so that I could get in. And when the time came for me to send my audition tape, I got accepted into the program.

Now, while I did get accepted, that doesn't mean that I could go for free. The price of the trip is very expensive for me and my mom, and any amount of donations would be greatly appreciated. The money received will help to cover the price of the program, the cost of education during the program, the cost of traveling to New York, and the cost of food during my trip.
