Support ER Nurse Jessica in Her Battle with Cancer
Donation protected
Metastatic disease to the lungs secondary to endocervical adenocarcinoma. Sounds scary, right? In shorter terms, it's even scarier—stage 4 lung cancer.
After a routine chest X-ray for shortness of breath, this became Jess's reality.
Hi, my name is Annie, and I'm creating this with the help of my coworkers on behalf of our charge nurse, Jessica Hayes. It's weird calling her that because she's always been so much more to every single one of us. She's our beloved friend, mentor, even therapist at times. Beyond that she's a mother to 15-year-old Wynter and 12-year-old Bryan, wife to Myk. She's the glue that has held the entire emergency department together almost every night she's worked.
After nearly a decade dedicating herself to helping others in need, I'm asking that we show Jess the same compassion. Jess will be undergoing intense chemotherapy to help treat her cancer, but ultimately it is incurable.
We want to help raise money to lift the burden from Jess and her family. The expenses will go towards medical bills and support for Jess's family during and after her fight. Jess still plans to work while receiving treatment in order to provide for her family, but we want to ease the financial strain so she can focus on the things that matter most in the time she has left.
If anyone is deserving, it is Jess Hayes
