Equality Miller is a bright, inquisitive 6-year-old student at Hampton City Schools, living right here in our Aberdeen community. Recently, Equality was diagnosed with kidney cancer. Along with her diagnosis, she is also autistic—a strong and special little girl who lights up every room with her beautiful smile.
Equality comes from a loving, hardworking family with six siblings, all of whom have been part of Hampton City Schools. Her mother, Mrs. Charvesse Miller, is a dedicated and humble woman who has recently started working as a Kindergarten Instructional Assistant for Hampton City Schools. Known for her bright smile and positive attitude, she even bikes to work with unwavering determination. The entire Miller family shares this spirit of resilience, love, and strong family values.
In the next two weeks, Equality will begin chemotherapy and radiation treatments at CHKD in Norfolk. Due to her daughter's illness, Charvesse is currently unable to work, which has put the family under significant financial strain. The costs of medical bills, groceries, gas for frequent trips to Norfolk for treatment, and other necessary expenses are overwhelming.
A group of longtime educators- Janet Viney, Robin Roberson, and Malinda Harris-Britt have come together to raise money and support the Miller family. We have known the family for many years and have each taught one or more of the Miller children. We are committed to standing with them during this difficult journey.
We are reaching out to our community to help ease the financial burden for Equality and her family during this incredibly challenging time. Any donation, big or small, will go directly toward supporting their needs and allowing them to focus on what matters most: Equality’s health and healing.
Thank you for your kindness, generosity, and support for the Miller family.
