Support Enzo's Battle for his Life

Hello everyone,

Our hearts are breaking as we write this. Our beloved dog Enzo, just four years old, has been diagnosed with end-stage kidney failure. It came out of nowhere. One day he was bouncing around the house like his usual lovable, sweet, golden-hearted self… and now he’s fighting for his life. Enzo isn’t just our dog—he’s family.

Three years ago, I spent nearly three months in the hospital fighting for my own life. When I finally came home, Enzo never left my side. He was there for every hard moment, curling up next to me, quietly watching, helping me heal. He gave me a reason to keep going. I needed to get better so I could take care of him—and he gave me the strength to do just that.

Enzo is my first dog and I would have never believed how much love I can have for a him. As much as any person in my life and that's what makes this whole process extremely difficult for me. I thought being in a wheelchair would make it hard to be a good dog dad, and it has been at times. But my love and responsibility raising him is and has been one of the greatest joys of my life. He’s been there for me in my time of need and now it’s my turn to be there for him.

Enzo has been hospitalized for the past four days, undergoing round-the-clock treatment: IV fluids, antibiotics, pain medications, sedatives, anti-nausea drugs, appetite stimulants—the full arsenal. He’s being poked and prodded, but he’s still fighting. His numbers dropped slightly today, just enough to give us a little hope. And that’s why we’re holding on.

It’s incredibly hard for us to ask for help, but we can’t do this alone. So far, his care has cost over $18,000 and continues to climb as we pursue every possible therapy to give him a good quality of life. There are new treatments and infusions that could buy him time, but they’re expensive.

We’re not ready to let him go. He’s still eating. Still playing. Still going on walks. He’s telling us he wants to keep living—and we want to honor that for as long as we can.

If you can donate—$5, $20, anything—it will go directly toward Enzo’s care. If you can’t, sharing this page or sending prayers means the world to us. If you’ve gone through something like this and know of treatments, specialists, or just want to share your story—we’d love to hear from you.

Our hope is to celebrate Enzo’s fifth birthday this November, with his tail still wagging and love still shining in his eyes. Thank you for helping us give him that chance.

With love and gratitude,
Gabriel, Roohinee, Cyrus & Hunter
