Support English Language Learners in DC

As part of Team OP81's Crown Grand Prix, we're coming together as a motorsports community to raise money to causes important to us. I've selected the Washington English Center, a non-profit organization that offers low-cost and free English classes, tutoring, and workforce programming to English language learners, refugees, and newcomers in the greater Washington, DC area. I have personally worked with the organization as a language tutor, and amidst the challenges that plague DC and the world right now, I think it's important to support an organization that helps our new neighbors adapt and enrich our community's culture.

The Washington English Center (WEC) started as a single class in 1993, but now has served folks from 105 countries of origin with 73 primary languages. Donations to the WEC help fund scholarships, purchase textbooks and classroom supplies, enhance workforce development opportunities, and support assistance for services beyond the classroom like health screenings and job placements. You can learn more here: https://www.washingtonenglish.org/about/

No amount is too small. For example, if just 25 of us donated $20 each, we could fund a set of 25 books for the center. Thank you so much for learning more about a cause important to me and for considering a contribution!
