Go Fund Me Campaign: Help Build the Energy Museum of Charlottesville—A Hub for Clean Energy Learning and Opportunity
Imagine a place in Charlottesville where children spark their curiosity about science, families discover the power of clean energy, and workers of all ages train for the green jobs of tomorrow.
The Energy Museum of Charlottesville is making that vision a reality—and we need your support!
Our Mission
Founded in 2023, the Energy Museum of Charlottesville is a non-profit dedicated to advancing renewable energy understanding, developing a skilled workforce, and fostering collaboration across our region. We are building a state-of-the-art science museum and workforce development center to:
-Educate the Public: Create engaging, hands-on exhibits on solar, wind, hydro, energy storage, and sustainable agriculture, making clean energy science accessible for all ages.
-Train the Workforce: Offer technical training, certifications, and job placement for the next generation of clean energy workers—meeting the surging demand for skilled professionals in Virginia and beyond.
- Empower the Community: Partner with local schools, trade programs, universities, renewable energy companies, and sustainable farmers to maximize impact and opportunity for everyone.
Why Now?
- The renewable energy market is growing at a record pace, with Virginia committed to 100% carbon-free electricity by 2045.
- By 2030, the U.S. will need over 1.5 million new workers in clean energy—especially wind turbine technicians and solar installers.
- Our region stands to gain $2.5 billion in annual economic impact and create over 1,000 new jobs each year through workforce development and clean energy adoption.
But to seize this opportunity, we need a place where learning, training, and innovation come together. That’s what the Energy Museum of Charlottesville will provide.
What Your Support Will Do
Your donation will help us:
- Build and equip the museum: Construct interactive displays, labs, and classrooms for hands-on learning.
- Launch outreach programs: Bring renewable energy science to K-12 students, underserved communities, and lifelong learners.
- Expand workforce training: Provide scholarships, certifications, and job placement services for high-demand clean energy careers.
- Foster partnerships: Connect with local schools, universities, businesses, and sustainable farms to create a vibrant, inclusive hub for energy innovation.
