Hi, we are Brooke & Kris and we unexpectedly had our baby girl 3 months early. It started with a headache that wouldn’t go away and some swelling in feet and hands and I ended up going into the birthing center to get everything checked out. They admitted me, and very quickly was diagnosed with severe preeclampsia at just 28 weeks and 1 day pregnant. I was transferred to Miami Valley hospital where I stayed for two days before the doctors made the decision to have baby via c-section. So on March 29 I went for my c-section and my precious little girl came into this world at 12:38pm weighing only 1 lb and 13oz. I continued to stay in the hospital for 5 days after I had her and then I got discharged. We named our girl Emsley. She will be looking at staying in the hospital for another 75 days, with a possibility of sooner if everything is great! Now my husband and I are trying to make ends meet with him being off of work for a while and being able to come see our baby girl as much as we can. She needs our touch just as much as we need hers. We have two little boys at home with us and our families have been so helpful with watching them for us as well so we can see our baby girl in the hospital. We live about 60 mins away from the hospital she is in, but we got an offer to stay in the Ronald McDonald house and we are so grateful for that!!! So now we can be about 10 minutes away from her to go and see her. But my husband is going to have to go back to work soon and we can’t afford him to stay off for too long but any monies donated will be used for our expenses such as gas, food, our bills & essential needs. And every little amount helps and we will be so blessed to receive anything! If we can get enough maybe my husband will be able to use his fmla to stay off work a little longer and we will have more time to keep visiting our baby girl.
