I have known a wonderful person named Emperatriz Marin. She was a healthy and happy person; I would never imagine how much her life could change in the blink of an eye. In 2019, Emperatriz was diagnosed with a rare and incurable disease called Huntington's Disease. This medical condition causes difficulty in thinking and understanding, speech problems, loss of coordination, and involuntary movements. This diagnosis left Emperatriz feeling hopeless and depressed. Her health has significantly declined to the point that it is interfering with her daily life. She is unable to do things by herself; she needs care 24 hours a day. I have witnessed how hard her daughter, Diana Pereznegron, works to provide expenses and care for Emperatriz, but unfortunately, her job earnings are not enough to cover all the medical expenses for this rare disease. I cannot imagine the stressful situation of a loved one being sick, not only having to worry about their health, but also about not having enough money to provide medical care and expenses.
