Support Emmy and Amy in their Brave Fight

- HI, my name is John and I am raising funds for my granddaughter and daughter, Emily (Emmy) and Amy Reimer.
- Emmy was diagnosed at 9 months old with a rare bone marrow failure called Diamond Black Fan Anemia. She received high doses of steroids for 13 years to help with her bone marrow but at age 13 they stopped working. Because of the steroids her bones have deteriorated and she has had both hips done, all of her teeth removed, and also a very bad ankle which really limits her mobility. After steroids she went on blood transfusions every 2 weeks. That had complications causing her to have to be hooked up to a pump 24/7 to help get the excess iron out of her body that chronic transfusions may cause. This eventually wasn't an option anymore and she went on to have a bone marrow transplant. Many complications happened during this time. Emmy had to have open heart surgery to remove a large blood clot just weeks after receiving the chemo for transplant. She got ARDS and had to be put on ECMO, she went septic multiple times in the hospital leading to a 1 1/2 year stay in St Judes. Emmy then came home on 52 meds and a ventilator. She worked to get off the ventilator and finally got down to just 5 meds and just oxygen. Emmy recently was diagnosed with a terminal, aggressive form of colon cancer which has already spread to her liver. Her first round of chemo landed her right back in ICU fighting infections, low blood counts, and low blood pressure. Through all of this in her 26 years of life, Emmy has has a positive attitude and is a pleasure to be around. Her mother, Amy, is a single mom and a home nurse supervisor and can't be with Emmy all of the time so Amy's mother is moving in to help with Emmy's care. Amy isn't comfortable asking for help but if there was ever anyone that could stand your support with prayers and financial help it is our Emmy and Amy.
