Emmett is the sweetest, most adorable blue eyed boy!
On Friday, Breonna rushed little Emmett to Seattle children's emergency center because he was not eating much, lethargic, and having a hard time breathing. Children's immediately admitted him into acute care, diagnosing him with multiple viruses, causing extreme mucus that was draining into his lungs. Saturday, Emmett took a turn for the worse and was moved to ICU. He had developed pneumonia, a partially collapsed lung and the mucus is continuing to cause problems.
Children's is doing a wonderful job taking care of Emmett. They have hopeful dates to discharge early this week depending on his progress. Currently he has not made progress which may prolong his stay. As friends and family reach out to the West family on how to help, it occurred to me these bills, no matter what insurance you have, rack up quick and to relieve this sweet family from the added stress of medical bills, we can wrap around them and take that away so family can focus all their energy on little Emmett. Prayers and support for the West family, let's rally around Aaron and Breonna, as they do so much for us and we can pay it back to them.
Update
Emmett was able to spend a full day out of ICU and back in acute care yesterday. He pulled out his feeding tube, so they are leaving it out but keeping him on IV fluids as he is still unable to keep formula down. They are still dealing with his mucus buildup and suctioning every couple hours. He has been able to be off oxygen, which is a great positive step. They are monitoring him closely and should be doing bloodwork today to see where we are with the viruses and pneumonia. He still has some goals to hit before he can be released but was awake and alert yesterday which was so great to see!
Thank you everyone for your donations and most importantly your prayers.
