UPDATE 4/2/2025 AM- Emma is going to have surgery #3 today so please continue to say prayers for Emma, Emma’s family and the medical team.
***Emma and her family are blown away by all of the monetary donations and prayers. Thank you!***
UPDATE Monday 3/31/2025 PM- Today Emma had surgery # 2 at Sparrow Hospital with both a Plastic Surgeon and Orthopedic Surgeon to identify what the best course of action will be for Emma and her future. After the surgery, the doctors notified Emma and her family that due to the severity of the injuries that she sustained to her left foot/ leg would best be for her to be amputated. Emma was provided the information and was able to assist in making the decision. Please say your prayers for Emma and her family and how this will change things temporarily but we all know Emma to be a strong and courageous young woman and she will continue to move mountains.
****Please know that Emma and her family are blown away by all of the support the community has shown and is so thankful for each and everyone of you that have contributed, shared and prayed for Emma. ****
Update- Sunday 3/30/2025 AM- Amanda shared that Emma will be having surgery tomorrow on 3/31/2025 at 9:45 AM. The surgery will be with plastics and ortho docs and they will be cleaning the foot again and seeing how things are looking - blood flow, ability to cover the open wound with a free flap, etc. and if the vascular supply to the foot is still working. At this time they are focusing on pain management for Emma.
Amanda shared, "I'm absolutely floored. I don't even know how to begin to thank everyone but please share how grateful I am."
Update - Saturday 3/29/2025 PM- Emma’s foot was severely injured in the accident.
They are waiting to learn more from the specialists that will come in on Monday to see if her foot can be reconstructed or if they won’t be able to save it.
Please continue to say prayers for Emma.
3/29/2025 AM- Early this morning, Emma Boer was involved in a tragic accident while on her way to Ohio for an educational college visit with Grand Rapids Civic Theatre.
The vehicle she was in veered off the road and hit a guardrail, which resulted in Emma being directly hit by the guardrail.
Emma was one of the four that were injured, and she sustained the worst injuries. She is in serious condition at this time and is currently in surgery at Sparrow Hospital in Lansing while they work towards stabilizing her.
Due to this horrible accident, Amanda will be taking an unforeseen amount of time off work to be with Emma.
We are asking for your help to cover the cost of transportation and medical treatments for Emma and her family.
Every donation, no matter how small, will make a significant difference and bring us one step closer to giving Emma the care she desperately needs. Please consider contributing to Emma’s GoFundMe campaign. Your support and prayers mean the world to us, and we are forever grateful for your kindness and generosity.
We will provide updates as we get them.
Thank you so much for your help during this time to support Emma.
