On January 13, 2026, our family’s world changed in an instant. My granddaughter Emma, a bright and hardworking 20-year-old junior at VCU, was involved in a single car crash. She suffered brain trauma, two massive strokes, and multiple fractures. Emma has always been dedicated to her studies and her job at Hotel 24 South, and her determination shines through even in the toughest moments.
Emma’s recovery will be a long and challenging journey. She will need extensive rehabilitation services, and the medical bills are already mounting. The accident has also meant a loss of income for both Emma and her mother, and there are significant travel expenses as she receives in-house treatment in Richmond. Medical expenses are a significant part of the need. Every day brings new challenges, but also hope, as Emma fights to heal and regain her strength.
We are so thankful for all the calls, cards, and offers of help we’ve received. If you are unable to donate, please lift Emma in your prayers and keep her in your thoughts. Your support, in any form, means the world to us as we navigate this difficult time. Thank you for standing with Emma and our family.
