Help Our Mom Fight Stage 4 Cancer
Hi everyone,
We never imagined we would be writing something like this, but right now our family truly needs help.
Our mom, Emma, was recently diagnosed with stage 4 bladder/urethral cancer, and our lives have been turned completely upside down. What started as severe pelvic pain quickly turned into countless doctor visits, hospital stays, scans, MRIs, and devastating news we never thought we’d hear. The cancer has already spread to her liver, lungs, spine, and bones.
Everything happened so fast.
Our mom has always been the strongest person we know. She’s the one everyone turns to when they need comfort, support, or help. No matter what she was going through herself, she always showed up for the people she loves. She’s an incredible mother, grandmother, family member, and friend with the biggest heart.
Even through all of this, she’s still trying to keep pushing forward. One of the things keeping her going right now is finishing her college degree. She has worked so hard for it, and she’s holding onto hope that she’ll be able to walk across the stage for graduation this November. As her children, we’re holding onto that hope with her and praying she gets that moment she’s worked so hard for.
She will soon begin aggressive treatment, including immunotherapy and cancer-targeting medications, in hopes of slowing the cancer and giving us more time with her. Right now, we are doing everything we can to stay hopeful and make sure she gets the care and support she needs.
But along with the emotional pain comes overwhelming financial stress. Between hospital stays, specialist appointments, medications, treatments, travel expenses, lost income, and everyday living costs, things are becoming more than our family can manage alone.
We are asking from the bottom of our hearts if you’re able to donate, no matter how small, it would mean the world to our family. And if you can’t donate, simply sharing this fundraiser, sending prayers, or keeping our mom in your thoughts means more than words can express.
We just want our mom to be able to focus on fighting for her life, spending time with the people she loves, and hopefully reaching that graduation stage in November without the added weight of financial stress.
Thank you for standing beside our mom and our family during the hardest time of our lives.
With love and gratitude,
Cynthia, Jessica, Wilmaris, and William
