Help Save Emma — Sweet Rescue Pup Hit by a Hit and Run Driver
On the evening of August 9th, a joyful, spirited little poodle mix named Emma — who just one year ago was rescued from a traumatic start in life — was hit by a car in a tragic accident outside her home.
Emma’s early years were filled with fear, neglect, and uncertainty. When my friend adopted her, Emma was skittish and wary of the world. But with love, patience, and care, my friend gave her the best life possible. Emma became her “princess,” a cherished companion who finally learned what safety and joy felt like.
This evening, after a happy trip to the dog park, my friend was tending her garden while Emma rested nearby on a long retractable leash. Emma has always hated being restrained — and in a sudden dash for “freedom,” she slipped out of her leash and ran into the neighbor’s yard. Instead of coming back when called, she bolted into the street, celebrating her escape — and was struck by a car that never stopped.
A neighbor heard the accident and rushed to help. Together, they got Emma to the emergency veterinary hospital as quickly as possible.
Emma’s injuries are severe:
• Broken ribs
• Swollen brain
• Internal injuries
• Several broken bones
She is now in the ICU in critical condition. The vets are doing everything they can to save her. But without immediate funds to cover the remaining cost of her emergency care — estimated at $7,000 — there’s a heartbreaking choice ahead. If the funds aren’t raised quickly, the hospital will either be forced to euthanize her or send her home in a condition my friend simply cannot manage without professional care.
Emma deserves a chance to live. She’s fought so hard to overcome her rough start — she’s just now blossoming into the happy, trusting, playful soul she was always meant to be.

We need your help to raise $7,500 to cover the remainder of her ICU treatment, surgeries, and recovery care. Every dollar will go directly to saving Emma’s life and giving her the chance to come home healthy.
Please — if you can, donate any amount, no matter how small. And if you’re not able to give right now, you can still help enormously by sharing this fundraiser with your network.
From the bottom of our hearts — thank you for helping us fight for Emma.
