Hi, my name is Marlenne, and I’m Emma Sofia’s mom.

For those who know me, you know I’ve always been a very present and dedicated mom to my girls. Our family is going through a very difficult and unexpected moment.

On April 20th, while arriving at school in the rain, Emma suffered a serious fall that caused fractures to both bones in her right ankle. It was a very painful and emotional moment for our family.

Emma received immediate medical care, and we were informed that her recovery will take approximately 3 months, with the first 4 weeks requiring strict rest. These first weeks are critical, as proper healing could help her avoid surgery.

As a family living abroad without nearby relatives, we don’t have the support system many families rely on in times like this. We are doing everything we can to adjust our routines and care for her at home, but this situation has significantly impacted our ability to work full-time.

The insurance has covered part of the emergency expenses; however, we are still responsible for the remaining balance, as well as the cost of the specialist who will guide Emma through her recovery and any potential physical therapy she may need to regain strength in her ankle.

At this time, this is all the information we have, and we are praying for a smooth and complete recovery.

We also need to purchase essential items to properly care for her at home during this period.

Para quienes me conocen, saben que siempre he sido una mamá muy presente y dedicada con mis niñas. Como familia, estamos atravesando un momento muy difícil e inesperado.

El 20 de abril, mientras llegaba a la escuela bajo la lluvia, Emma sufrió una caída fuerte que le provocó fracturas en ambos huesos de su tobillo derecho. Fue un momento muy doloroso y emocional para todos nosotros.

Emma recibió atención médica inmediata, y nos informaron que su recuperación tomará aproximadamente 3 meses, siendo las primeras 4 semanas de reposo estricto. Estas primeras semanas son clave, ya que una buena recuperación podría ayudar a evitar una cirugía.

Como familia viviendo en el extranjero sin familiares cercanos, no contamos con el sistema de apoyo con el que muchas familias cuentan en momentos como este. Estamos haciendo todo lo posible para adaptarnos y cuidarla en casa, pero esta situación ha impactado significativamente nuestra capacidad de trabajar a tiempo completo.

El seguro ha cubierto una parte de los gastos de emergencia; sin embargo, aún debemos cubrir el saldo restante, así como los costos del especialista que guiará su recuperación y posibles terapias físicas para que pueda recuperar la fuerza en su tobillo.

Por ahora, esta es toda la información que tenemos, y estamos orando por una recuperación completa y sin complicaciones.

También necesitamos adquirir algunos artículos esenciales para poder cuidarla adecuadamente en casa durante este período.
