Support Emma Halligan's fight against cancer

Donation protected

Dear family, friends, neighbors, and our community. We are reaching out on behalf of Emma Halligan, and our dear friends the Halligan family.

This past August, Emma was diagnosed with high grade Spindle Cell Sarcoma, an aggressive and rare form of cancer. After experiencing pain in her hip, Emma was seen by an orthopedic doctor who ordered an MRI, and eventually a biopsy. A mass was found and was determined to be this rare cancer. Emma is currently undergoing inpatient and outpatient chemotherapy, with inpatient treatment averaging 4 days in the hospital, and will have surgery to remove the tumor and part of the affected bone in late November. After surgery and a lengthy rehabilitation with physical therapy, Emma will continue receiving chemotherapy treatments.

Emma is 22 years old, a graduate of Middletown High School South and the Robert Fiance Beauty school. She was excelling in her career as an esthetician. She has a gift for bringing out a woman’s natural beauty. Due to the nature of her treatments and her diagnosis, Emma has been unable to work. Emma is a smart, funny, and sweet young woman who when not working enjoys dancing, crafting, and cooking. Her homemade pizza is 5-star worthy! Emma spent many years through middle school and high school dancing and has been a longtime member of Kelly’s Dance Loft in Atlantic Highlands. Emma lives at home in the Navesink area of Middletown with her parents, Paul and Jeanine Halligan and her brother Collin Halligan. She dotes on her two dogs, Quinn and Harley.

Paul and Jeanine Halligan have lived in Middletown for over 26 years. They are two people that will drop everything to help anyone in need. They are loyal friends and neighbors, and are always involved in our community. Paul has been a volunteer fireman for over 37 years in Rumson as well as in several other towns. He has also just recently completed his annual walk/run in the Tunnel to Towers Run. Whether it’s a true emergency, just a flat tire, or help with a home project, Paul is the first person to step up. Jeanine, as many of us know, is the person that is there for you in a time of need. She was always the first to help in school and was a fixture at Navesink Elementary while both Emma and Collin were students. She is the first to volunteer at many events including the annual Navesink Fireman’s Fair. Whether she’s bringing homemade soup when someone is sick, comforting a crying baby, or just being a shoulder to lean on, Jeanine is always there for friends and family. Emma’s brother Collin, and sister Courtney Glubo, also bring a quiet strength to their sister’s cancer battle.

Emma's battle with cancer is a full-time commitment, leaving her unable to work while she focuses on her recovery and wellness. This courageous young woman and her family, who have given so much to our community, now need our support. Please consider helping Emma in her fight against this disease. Your donation will assist Emma and the Halligan family as they face this journey together.

Thank you for being a part of Emma’s support system. Together we can do our part to help her and her family get through this cancer battle.
